Stephanie D. Pointer, MD is a founder and managing partner of Digestive and Liver Health Specialists, PLLC. She is on staff as a clinical gastroenterologist at Tristar Hendersonville Medical Center.
Dr. Pointer received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Rhodes College and her Doctor of Medicine from Morehouse School of Medicine. Dr. Pointer completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and a fellowship in gastroenterology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. While in fellowship, she had a special focus on inflammatory bowel disease.
Dr. Pointer has a demonstrable history of commitment to academic excellence and lifelong learning and has been inducted into multiple honor societies and has been published in peer-reviewed journals and a textbook. Dr. Pointer has a long-standing history of commitment to her community through volunteering, mentoring youth, and founding Enchanted Fingers Piano Lessons, a non-profit that she created during her undergraduate years to teach underserved youth piano lessons, free of charge.

Saras Sharma, DO is a founder and managing partner of Digestive and Liver Health Specialists, PLLC. He is an attending physician at Tristar Hendersonville Medical Center.
Dr. Sharma received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and his medical degree from Touro University in Vallejo, California.
Dr. Sharma completed his training in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology in sunny South Florida at NOVA Southeastern University, where he was selected as chief fellow of his gastroenterology program. He was regularly invited to showcase clinical cases at national conferences throughout the course of his training in Florida. Additionally, Dr. Sharma had a special focus in mastering safe and effective endoscopic interventions for a variety of digestive tract ailments, which he honed by training at GI-specific advanced surgical centers, that focused on high quality patient care and complete patient satisfaction. He regularly presented research at national gastroenterology conferences of many unique clinical presentations and also spoke on the endoscopic management of common and rare gastrointestinal disorders.
Sabrina Briggs joined Digestive and Health Specialists in 2023. She was trained at the University of South Florida earning a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). She has been a practicing Family Nurse Practitioner for 20 years. Since 2010 she has practiced in the Middle Tennessee area. She has a particular interest in managing common female gastroenterology issues such as irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal pain, and altered bowel habits including constipation and diarrhea. She is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. When away from work she enjoys spending time with her husband and children cheering on the kids at their baseball/softball games. She also loves traveling, cooking, and hanging out with friends and family.
Brent Oland, PA, is a distinguished professional with a remarkable background in healthcare and a commitment to excellence in gastroenterology. Brent’s journey is marked by 23 years of dedicated service in the U.S. Army.
In 2010, Brent graduated from the prestigious Interservice Physician Assistant Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and began his career as a Physician Assistant. During his tenure in the U.S. Army, Brent served as a PA for 4 years, providing vital medical care to servicemen and women.
Expanding his expertise, Brent spent 2 years in Urgent Care, honing his skills in handling a diverse range of medical conditions. Recognizing the importance of specialized care, Brent then transitioned to gastroenterology and dedicated 5 years to the field in both an inpatient and outpatient setting.
Brent is not only an experienced practitioner but also a devoted educator. For the past 3 years, he committed himself to shaping the future of healthcare professionals by serving as a full-time principal faculty member at the South College-Nashville Physician Assistant Program.
Outside of medicine, Brent has a passion for creative endeavors. He finds joy in repurposing old furniture and also enjoys activities such as golfing, camping, and hiking.
