Stephanie D. Pointer, MD is a founder and managing partner of Digestive and Liver Health Specialists, PLLC. She is on staff as a clinical gastroenterologist at Tristar Hendersonville Medical Center.
Dr. Pointer received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Rhodes College and her Doctor of Medicine from Morehouse School of Medicine. Dr. Pointer completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and a fellowship in gastroenterology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. While in fellowship, she had a special focus on inflammatory bowel disease.
Dr. Pointer has a demonstrable history of commitment to academic excellence and lifelong learning and has been inducted into multiple honor societies and has been published in peer-reviewed journals and a textbook. Dr. Pointer has a long-standing history of commitment to her community through volunteering, mentoring youth, and founding Enchanted Fingers Piano Lessons, a non-profit that she created during her undergraduate years to teach underserved youth piano lessons, free of charge.

Saras Sharma, DO is a founder and managing partner of Digestive and Liver Health Specialists, PLLC. He is an attending physician at Tristar Hendersonville Medical Center.
Dr. Sharma received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and his medical degree from Touro University in Vallejo, California.
Dr. Sharma completed his training in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology in sunny South Florida at NOVA Southeastern University, where he was selected as chief fellow of his gastroenterology program. He was regularly invited to showcase clinical cases at national conferences throughout the course of his training in Florida. Additionally, Dr. Sharma had a special focus in mastering safe and effective endoscopic interventions for a variety of digestive tract ailments, which he honed by training at GI-specific advanced surgical centers, that focused on high quality patient care and complete patient satisfaction. He regularly presented research at national gastroenterology conferences of many unique clinical presentations and also spoke on the endoscopic management of common and rare gastrointestinal disorders.
Brent Oland, PA, is a distinguished professional with a remarkable background in healthcare and a commitment to excellence in gastroenterology. Brent’s journey is marked by 23 years of dedicated service in the U.S. Army.
In 2010, Brent graduated from the prestigious Interservice Physician Assistant Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and began his career as a Physician Assistant. During his tenure in the U.S. Army, Brent served as a PA for 4 years, providing vital medical care to servicemen and women.
Expanding his expertise, Brent spent 2 years in Urgent Care, honing his skills in handling a diverse range of medical conditions. Recognizing the importance of specialized care, Brent then transitioned to gastroenterology and dedicated 5 years to the field in both an inpatient and outpatient setting.
Brent is not only an experienced practitioner but also a devoted educator. For the past 3 years, he committed himself to shaping the future of healthcare professionals by serving as a full-time principal faculty member at the South College-Nashville Physician Assistant Program.
Outside of medicine, Brent has a passion for creative endeavors. He finds joy in repurposing old furniture and also enjoys activities such as golfing, camping, and hiking.
With 34 years of nursing experience and 9 years as a Nurse Practitioner, Denise Oram brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the practice. She graduated from Tennessee State University in Nashville, where she honed her skills in nursing and advanced practice. Denise’s diverse background encompasses research, weight loss, oncology, hospice care, home health, and family medicine, allowing her to provide comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s needs. Outside of her medical career, Denise cherishes time with family and friends. She enjoys traveling, gardening, riding her motorcycle, and spoiling her four granddaughters. Patients appreciate her compassionate approach and dedication to their health and well-being.
Originally from Chicago, Sarah Wojtowicz is a board-certified Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with over 28 years of healthcare experience—17 years as a registered nurse and 11 years as a nurse practitioner. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Loyola University Chicago and has a diverse background in orthopedics, trauma, general surgery, critical care, pulmonology, and the specialized care of patients recovering from critical illness. Sarah moved to Tennessee five years ago and is passionate about providing compassionate, expert care to her patients.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys reading, music, organizing, and spending time with family and friends. She stays active in her children’s lives—Izzy and AJ —including PTO involvement, cheering on Izzy at martial arts, and enjoying movie nights together.
Chasity Blalock is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 16 years of experience in patient care. A Middle Tennessee native, she began her career after earning a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Tennessee in 2008, working with patients and families facing co-occurring disorders. She later graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University in 2013 with a Master of Science in Nursing and certification in Family Medical Care.
Chasity has spent the past 12 years providing family and urgent care services, including in rural communities, medical deserts, and post-disaster settings. She is also passionate about education and has precepted graduate nursing students for several years.
Outside of work, Chasity volunteers with local nonprofits and enjoys hiking, kayaking, traveling, sketching, crafting, and spending time with her husband and daughter
